A Little on Love

Happy Valentine’s Day Loves! Though I will be the first to tell you I’m not the biggest fan of this day (commercialism, cliche gifting, etc.) but I do love love and like to celebrate that today and every day! Valentine’s day can really be a great thing to set aside time to really focus on your special someone – just like birthday’s weddings, and anniversaries have their places – but it is not an excuse to fail to show love every other day of the year. Nor is it an obligatory day for roses teddy bears and chocolates. Come on, where’s the creativity in that? So think outside the box and collaborate with your special someone today and celebrate your relationship and the love that fills it daily with the things that you love to do together!

Ok, now that I’m off my soapbox 🙂 I thought I’d share some love with y’all! One of my favorite “different” Valentine’s day celebrations: One year in college while my husband and I were dating he had a wonderful surprise for me for Valentine’s day – He and one of his roommates got together and planned a special night for both of us girlfriends! They had this elaborate scheme with a scavenger hunt around campus for the two of us ladies to complete together with clues to landmarks special to each of our relationships that ended with a delicious home cooked meal by the guys for the four of us, complete with rose petals, fancy tablecloth and candles galore! It was the sweetest thing ever and we got to celebrate our relationships together with some amazing friends 🙂

Since we’re speaking of love and all, one reason I do enjoy Valentine’s day is that it falls a month after our wedding anniversary and is like another mini celebration of our wedding each year! I am continually amazed at how much I love my sweet husband and how simply wonderful he is! Especially this year as we’ve had to celebrate both our anniversary and today in different cities with the move. I CANNOT wait to have him here for good tomorrow so we can celebrate together! So just in case you’ve never read these, check out just how much I love him by reading these 🙂

OUR PROPOSAL & OUR WEDDING
In honor of this mushy day of love, I’ve also linked up with Mary for Wedding Wednesday & Melissa for Love Story so be sure to check those both out 🙂
