Social Media Organization #2: Facebook & Bloglovin!

On Wednesday I shared about how to organize and utilize the world of Twitter to your advantage, as well as utilizing Instapaper and lists to help manage your time. If you missed it, be sure to check that post out here. Today I want to tackle the world of Facebook and Bloglovin as well as email organization. I put these three together as folders will be your biggest help for each of these social media outlets.

Facebook
I highly advise you making a page for your blog on Facebook that is separate from your personal page. You can display your most recent blog posts, giveaways, etc. and connect with another group of readers that may not be at all familiar with the blogging world or what the heck GFC is and think rather about fried chicken than following your blog if you’re not too careful. I speak from experience. Also, you can use Facebook as your page (and “like” other pages) so that those things can be kept organized on your blog Facebook page rather than your personal page. (Though, and I may be wrong- and someone please correct me if I am, for giveaways via rafflecopter you need to do so from your personal account b/c your “like” from your page’s account doesn’t show up for some reason or count towards the “like” count. It’s weird.)

Bloglovin
First of all, if you don’t have your blog on Bloglovin, you really should. You can follow me on Bloglovin here. Not only is it a great tool to organize the blogs you follow, but when yours is on there, other readers can do the same! On your home page, click “following” on the left tap and a page will appear with all of the blogs your follow…

You can then manage your blogs and either add a blog, create a new group, or change the group of a blog you’re already following. This way, with your folders for each group, you can categorize blogs so that you are able to read the ones you want without getting overwhelmed.

Email
If you don’t already, I’d get an email address specifically for your blog. This way, comments on posts can come there, any blog related emailing can be done from there, and you can use it for all other log in information from Bloglovin, to a link tool, Passionfruit, and even Twitter. This way, all things blog will stay together. I especially recommend this if you use your other email for work related activity as well as personal use. There is nothing more overwhelming to open your email to check something from your boss and have a bazillion blog emails you feel like you need to respond to that minute. Having the two different emails help to keep you from going crazy and always playing catch up.
The best way to organize here is to use your labels. Create a label for each category you want to keep separate. For example, I have sponsors, giveaways, product reviews, comments, and co-hosting just to name a few of the labels I have set up. You can also filter messages to fall into these labels to help you out as your emails come in. Trust me, makes life easier. Here’s an idea of what mine looks like.

And there you have it! A few easy tips to help keep you organized on Facebook, Bloglovin, and in the world of email. Be sure to come back next week for the last Social Media Organization post where I’ll be talking about the importance of scheduling! Please let me know if you have any questions, I’d be happy to chat 🙂

Hi I am visiting from the blog hop. I have been having so much trouble with blog loving they have reset my pass word so many times and I still can not get in, I think that I am going to close out and start again. Yes there is a lot of great blogs on there. I never knew the blogosphere was so large.

One thing I am so happy that I did at the very beginning was make a separate email account for the blog! It definitely helps!
