Most Valuable Friendship - Simply Elliott

What is the most valuable friendship you have in your life and what makes it so great? Wow. I just don’t even know if I can narrow it down to one person. Or even if I could, if I could do so without somehow hurting another friendship that I hold dear as well. My husband is certainly my best friend, my biggest supporter, and so much more than simply the man of my dreams and he is by far one of the most valued relationships in my life. However, I can say that there are a handful of ladies that I would also consider to be extremely valuable friendships that are a necessary part of my life as well. And while these few ladies differ greatly on so many level, they share a great many of the same characteristics that make them so cherished in my life.

I wrote last week about my dear friends from high school. These ladies are so very important to me and you should read about how awesome they are! In addition to these ladies, the handful of women I am speaking about are ladies I met while at Auburn. Ladies that I worshiped with, served with, lived with, and experienced the loveliest village on the plains with. Our faith was essential in these relationships, but it was so much more than that.

So makes these relationship so valuable you say? The fact that I can pick up the phone and talk about anything with them. That I can send a text about something random and they will know exactly what I mean. That a picture from years ago can bring back a multitude of memories. That we can spend hours just talking and laughing, and share honestly with one another about not only what is going on in our lives, but what the Lord is teaching us through those experiences. That we can go months without seeing each other, and can pick up right where we left off. That they have seen me not only in the happy times, but have walked with me through the struggles. They are the ones who shared in the joyous celebrations of one of the most incredible times of my life and then encouraged me every step of the way during one of the scariest times of my life. They have laughed with me, cried with me, prayed with me, and journeyed through attempting to figure out what it means to live this life with Christ as the focus and how to love and serve others. And I am forever grateful for how special they are to me, and how valuable their friendship is to me.
