Since we just moved into our very first house, we have been trying to make it feel like home and reflect who we are in our decorations and such. I wanted to share a few of my favorite decorations with y’all, and some of the places I go to to come up with a new spin on how to decorate our space!
One of my favorites spots in the house – the coffee bar! And those are coffee beans for the outline of the USA on the pallet (how to coming soon!).
The living room and master bedroom. Can you tell we like the rustic theme with the old windows & doors?
An incredibly easy project makes for a great way to showcase wine glasses using an old rake! The menu board & 1940’s coke machine are great additions to the kitchen.
The cross wall contains crosses from our travels together as well as wedding gifts. I love this tradition of collecting crosses! A little pop of color makes our wedding photo collection shine.
This is just a tiny sample of some of my favorite bits of decor in the house. Several more projects to come and “how to’s” on some of the crafts as well so get excited. 🙂
Leading up to our big move in date, I had been scouring stores, magazines, and of course my trusty board on Pinterest, “para la casa” to come up with some of these ideas. I’m always looking for something different or original, so I was pretty excited when Shutterfly shared this summer inspiration board…
I love the simplicity and the small pops of color.
L to R: table setting, wall art, living room, ice tea, snowdrops, kitchen design
After viewing this board, I hopped on over to Pinterest and searched their profile and was so excited to find the boards they had! SO many great ideas in one spot that are quite creative! I always love finding new inspiration so I can’t wait to scour the pins and I couldn’t help but share with y’all. And I’ve always loved Shutterfly so I was really shocked when I wasn’t already following this board. I have so many photo books from them and have made several projects (like calendars, cards, etc.) so I’m a huge fan – not to mention I always get such a great deal!
Where do you get your inspiration?

Thank you for the little home tour Lauren – I love your slightly rustic style. I agree with Jessica, the wine glass holder made from a rake is brilliant! How is the rake attached to the wall?

Wow, I never would have thought to hang old windows as art on the wall.
What a neat idea.
Clearly I need to get out more and do some Pinterestin'

I just love fiddling with my rooms.. I always think there is a better look out there. Plus the smallest changes can really make a difference. We just added some gorgeous hallway runners and I think its a look I may actually keep for awhile
