30 x 30 Challenge | Intro

The time has finally come! Now that I work in an office where I can wear “normal” clothes to work I wanted to finally start the 30×30 Challenge. Well, that, and the fact that it is starting to cool down a bit and actually become fall weather where layering is a must in all locations, not simply just my office. So back to the challenge…ever heard of it? Read about the 30 x 30 Challenge before we get started! Also – if you’re looking to prep for this type of experience by cleaning out your closet, be sure to check out the 30 x 30 Organization Challenge as well as some great tips on my style page. Now, let’s review the rules, shall we?
Rules:
1. Pick 30 items or less from your closet. (Accessories & jewelry are not included – I have also chosen to not include shoes as well as they can’t be worn alone either.)
2. Remix the 30 items into 30 different outfits. It might take 30 days or 3 years. It doesn’t matter. Just do it.
3. Don’t shop for 30 days.
4. (My rule). Donate the excess in your closet that you never wear to someone who needs it!
I’ve broken down my items into categories, and posted each set of items below. Like I mentioned above, I will not be counting shoes in my 30 items and counting them as accessories.A lot of people count the shoes, and you are welcome to make that decision as well! The point of the challenge is learn to “shop your closet” and love the items you have already. I’ve already noticed that almost every one of the items I chose as favorites/staples are from either LOFT or GAP. A huge plus in understanding your own style is to know where your favorites items that fit well, and that you keep going back to, come from.

Here are the 30 items I have chosen for the challenge (it was hard!):

I plan to post a weekly recap on Fridays for the previous week’s outfits rather than selfies every day of the challenge. Not gonna happen. Let’s just call it #fashionfriday shall we? I would LOVE for you to join me in this journey of simplicity and of style. I already wish I could have added several items to my list of 30 so in effect, the challenge is already working! I will list where each of items are from under the pictures for the daily outfits including jewelry, scarves, and shoes – and if you have a question, certainly let me know!

Week One: Outfits 1-7

Week Two: Outfits 8-14

Week Three: Outfits 14-21

Week Four: Outfits 22-28

Week Five: Outfits 29-30

(and bonus: Outfits 31-37)

Where do you get outfit inspiration? Could you survive the challenge?
