As you know, we just recently purchased our first house! Well, I wanted to make a cute memento to hang by the door and I searched Pinterest for some ideas. After finding a bunch of clever crafts, I decided to combine a few and came up with the idea to put the picture we took on closing day along with the key in a frame. Since the house only had one previous owner, we actually even had the original house key which I thought was pretty cool since it has a little more character than other keys.
After we got the locks redone (as you should always do when moving into a house someone else has lived in!) I had the picture printed and searched diligently for a frame to display the two in. I stumbled onto this adorable one in Target (where else?) and it was an easy project that turned out perfect for our entryway! Since we use a bowl for our keys, it filled in the space nicely under the “home” decor we already had up on the wall. I added some burlap to tie the two pieces together and the year as well with some leftover scrapbooking stickers I had. And there you have it! Quick and simple and now we have this momentous occasion captured forever 🙂
How do you display your first house memories?
