Every year the husband’s family has quite the massive family gathering. To be perfectly honest, I’ve been in the family three years now and I still have a hard time remembering who is connected to who and how we all fit together! But the size of our extended family is one of the things I absolutely love at this time of year. Growing up I never really saw the few cousins I had since we didn’t live close by, and it’s been fun getting to know all of the other “grandchildren” and the entire family as well. Since this is the first year we’ll be in our house for Christmas, we are super excited to have over some of the grandchildren for a holiday gathering of our own. We’re all roughly the same age, but as some are still in high school I wanted to be able to think outside the typical box of “spirited refreshments” and still have some festive drinks for the younger generation.
When I lived in Atlanta, one of my favorite things to do was visit the World of Coke, so I was super excited to hear that they had holiday tastings out! Gingerbread Coke and Chocolate Cherry Coke recipes are being sampled right now at the World of Coca-Cola’s Taste It! beverage lounge along with Sprite Zero Cranberry (which goes quite well with some spirited additions), the latest beverage from The Coca-Cola Company in stores through the new year. While you can’t purchase the first two drinks, the recipes are actually super simple and a perfect addition to any holiday gathering!
Gingerbread Coke Ingredients
8 oz Coca-Cola
1 oz Monin Gingerbread syrup
Chocolate Cherry Coke Ingredients
8 oz Coca-Cola
1⁄2 oz Monin Cherry syrup
1⁄2 oz Monin Chocolate syrup
Preparation (the same for each recipe):
- Fill a 16 oz glass half full with ice.
- Combine all ingredients and stir.
- You can order Monin brand syrup, or use any local generic as well!
If you want to real crazy – pour over vanilla ice cream instead of ice and make floats! So tasty!
Disclosure: I was approached by Coca-Cola with these recipes to try during the holiday season. I was not financially compensated in any way for this post, nor was I provided with any of the materials to make these beverages. All opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations and experience while making these tasty beverages. They are just too fun not to share!
