31 Bits | Cause & Review

I was first introduced to 31 Bits from my dear friend for her wedding. She had wanted her gift to us bridesmaids to be something that not only reflected her style, but also was making a difference in the world. And in comes 31 Bits… 31 Bits is an organization that sells handmade jewelry made by women in Uganda, but in a sense they are so much more than that. Their mission, “Using Fashion and Design to Empower Women to Rise Above Poverty”, hits to the heart of why this company is so incredible. They are helping to provide opportunity to women who otherwise would have had no hope, and likely a very limited future. I love how their story reads:

We implemented a five-year holistic development program in Uganda, where each woman receives health education, finance training, counseling, and business training. She belongs to a community where she can earn an income, be educated, and dream for her future. After five years in our program, the women graduate, leaving with an education, a career, social equity, confidence, and a voice. We now have 120 women in our program whose lives are changed. Their children’s lives are changed. Their community is changed. And we got to be a part of it!Five years ago we were carefree 21-year-olds. Today, we have plenty to care about. We’ve learned that as consumers, every purchase we make has either a negative impact or a positive impact in the world. That’s why we’ve taken a simple product like jewelry and made it a vehicle for doing something GOOD. Our customers are changing people’s lives through their purchases. 31 Bits is part of a movement revolutionizing the way people do business. We believe businesses should be conscious of both the creator and the consumer. Through holistic care and YOUR purchase, women are being empowered to rise above poverty.

To read more about the history of Uganda, and the model of how 31 Bits works, be sure to visit their site. So after wearing our pretty pink necklaces to honor our beautiful friend and bride, I began to search for this company that produced such an incredible product, with an even more profound message. There is something so special about a group of women gathered together proudly displaying the fruits of another group of women’s labor. From our community to yours, Eschet Chayil!

So when I had the opportunity to do a product review for 31 Bits, I was beyond excited to partner with them and review one of the bracelets from their spring line.  It matches spot on with the necklace I already have, so it was just even more perfect than I could imagine. I love that it is so “springy” and lightweight. It is perfect for mixing in with my watch or other bracelets for a layered look, or solo for a casual elegance.

I simply LOVE getting fun packages in the mail, and was excited about the way the bracelet came packaged. The bracelet was tucked into such a fun little bag and came with information about the designers and the products that 31 Bits provide as well as some history. ADORABLE.

the beautiful bracelet by itself:

both of the pieces I have together :

Here’s just a few of the ways I’ve styled the bracelet already, and with the soft colors, it’s perfect for mixing with just about anything. This is certainly going to be a staple as the weather stays warmer! #fashionforgood

White is always a great blank canvas to showcase such fun pieces:
And both pieces are perfect for pairing with a chambray dress for running errands.

I wore the outfit below for Easter to add a soft pop of color as we enter spring and celebrate life and the Resurrection!

Be sure to visit their shop and connect with them on social media as well!
