I love cheese – in just about every form – but am well aware that too much of a good thing is never ok. And when trying to stay on a relatively paleo diet, it’s hard to completely go without cheese altogether. So I was super excited when Sargento introduced their Ultra Thin slices of cheese (not to mention the adorable lunch bag that come with my coupons from Influenster). I typically buy Sargento as is because I can trust the product they produce, especially as they have low fat options and the best cheese cubes around which are perfect for snacking!
This new recipe from Sargento Cheese was the perfect way to pair my #SargentoUltraThin cheese with one of our favorites – our homemade pepper jelly! Perfect easy lunch. The best part of the cheese slices is that they are only 40-45 calories per slice and still have all the flavor.
When I was in Spain, one of my favorite lunches in the cafe was jamon y queso served with a tall skinny glass of coke or tea (without ice). This easy sandwich brought me back to the square in Salamanca, Madrid, and Barcelona, but with a new twist. I love that adding the pepper jelly gives it an extra kick!
The thin slices are perfect for using on wraps as well since they roll easily, so I can’t wait to try out some more simple lunch recipes using one of my favorite ingredients without feeling guilty for a bit of cheesy indulgence ; ) The best thing is knowing that they are all natural cheese slices, not processed junk wrapped in plastic. I will certainly be purchasing more of these ultra thin slices in the future!
How do you like your cheese?
