Last month my sweet in laws celebrated 30 years of marriage! As a fun surprise, and shift from them doting on everyone else, us “children” with the help of some friends, threw them a surprise anniversary party. The theme was How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You and we had everyone bring their favorite dessert to share. It was a total surprise, and a complete blast watching as all their friends gathered together to celebrate and recall all the memories from the past thirty years. My mother in law, much like me, adores a tasty margarita now and again, so we found and mixed up a few different margarita punch recipes until we came up with this one and it was spot on!
Here are some pictures from the night, and what has now become my go to party drink of choice!

Margarita Punch Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2 cans frozen limeade concentrate
- 1/2 8 oz can frozen lemonade concentrate
- 2 cups orange liqueur
- 2 cups tequila
- 6 cups water
- 1 (2 liter bottle) lemon lime soda (we used diet 7up b/c it was on sale 🙂
Directions:
- Combine first 5 ingredients
- Freeze for at least 8 hours – we actually did it for less and it was ok too, but certainly could have been in for longer
- Pour into bowl to serve
- Add soft drink & stir till slushy
- Add round slices of lemons and limes to float
- Enjoy & refill 🙂
We did this twice and had each in a large freezer ziplock bag (we put the bag upright in a large pot to keep it up while we mixed the ingredients – so much easier!) so that we could fill the punch bowl for round one and then refill later so it stayed slushy!
