Harry Potter and the Wizarding World of Nerdiness

Yes, that is a Hogwarts Alumni shirt. Yes, my spectacles are an ode to Harry Potter himself.
c/o firmoo

Not that any of this should surprise you in any way. I am a huge nerd (I mean, I have entire page on here dedicated to books, come on now.) And while I love my kindle to pieces and it is beyond perfect for traveling, I will always love a good paperback. There’s just something about the feel and smell of a “real book” that makes me light up with complete and utter happiness. And there’s something to be said for holding a copy you know another person has read or signed – an automatic connection that occurs simply when you flip the pages. While my virtual bookshelves are great, I love having real bookcases at home donned with my favorite reads for company to pursue when they come to visit. So much so that one of our currently unused bedrooms has been dubbed “the library” because we keep adding random bookshelves and stocking them full of literature form every genre.
One of the best places to get used books here is 2nd & Charles (seriously if you’re in Bham, check it out) and I’ve been stocking up for our upcoming trip to the beach. You can sell your books, CDs, games & a whole bunch of other items and get store credit or cash out. They always run sales & special deals too – recently it was buy 3 get 2 free on all used books (they have new items as well) – so I was able to get all the books below for $1.15 after store credit I had from selling back!

Today I also wanted to give a shout out to Firmoo for these rocking glasses I’ve been sporting lately. Firmoo has fashionable glasses at affordable prices, both with and without prescriptions. You can even upload your picture and see what glasses would like on your face using their Virtual Try On system. Best of all, you don’t ever have to pay hundreds of dollars for glasses again! To find out more details about Firmoo, check out this post about how I ordered my first pair from them or the process I used when getting my sunnies as well. You won’t be disappointed!

Are you nerdy too? I would love to geek out about it : )
