I love this next room I am going to show you today! Our downstairs guest bedroom. It’s on the opposite side of the house from the master so it’s still private & there is a full bath down the hall so it’s got everything you’d need for a weekend stay. In our house we have a lot of pieces that are meaningful or tell a story, and this room is no exception. The furniture is actually my great grandparents (on my mom’s side) first store bought furniture from the early 1900’s. And the cedar chest was hand carved by my Great Uncle! This has been dubbed the travel room too, as it holds a great deal of artifacts from my mission travels around the world. We wanted the room to be interesting enough on it’s own, and even added the wifi password so guests don’t have to ask how to connect 🙂
The bath down the hall is meant to be shared with the second bedroom downstairs (which is currently “the library”) so we wanted it to be pretty neutral. We went beach themed and included shells from my Grandmother’s collection mixed in with ones we had each collected over the years. We also wanted anyone who spent the night to have anything they needed for toiletries available so the basket is filled with goodies collected from hotel stays!
