After I posted the picture below on Instagram I got a lot of comments & emails about where we go our shelves for the nursery so I wanted to share exactly what we did! First, all of the credit for the idea goes to the husband. (Awesome, right?) I had told him I wanted to do little hanging shelves on the wall to hold books in the nursery and he found this idea online and we went from there on execution of how to make it happen. And y’all, it’s seriously simple as can be!
What you’ll need:
Vinyl gutter (we used one & cut in half for two shelves)
Hidden hangers (we used two for each shelf)
End cap sets (we used two – one set for each shelf)
Screws for the hangers (they use one each)
here’s some great options for these items at Home Depot & see pics below for referenceÂ
Cut the gutter into two equal parts (or however many you’d like to make) with a reciprocating saw (you should def invest in one of these if you don’t have one – we’ve used it for so many of my projects as well as all the husband’s manly ones!).  Now wash off all parts – let’s be real, most things in HD aren’t spic & span when you get them off the shelf. Slide the hangers in from the ends of the gutter before you place the end caps on, then cap off the edges. Now you’re ready to hang! Find the studs and mark your holes, making sure your shelf is level. Then make a starter hole & drill in your screws. The best part is that you can slide the gutter wherever you want it to go once you screw the hangers into the studs. Very handy. Then voila! Stock with your little one’s books and you are ready to go! Admittedly, we need several more books for her shelves, but I just had to see what it looked like with the ones we had! Seriously took about 10 minutes & was about $6 total.
