How is our little tiger already 5 months old?!? It certainly doesn’t feel like it’s been that long and somehow feels like so much longer all at the same time. She is just the most wonderful thing & I can’t believe I get to be her mommy. Some days it just doesn’t seem real!
measurements:
- 12 lbs 8 oz
- 25 inches
- breastfeeding, pumping, and formula – we also started some baby cereal!
- 0-3 month & 3 month clothing
- size 1 diapers
Little miss has had a lot of firsts again this month! She rolled over (front to back and back to front!) on 7.20.16 right after she turned 4 months old. Now she won’t stop rolling around everywhere lol! She is LOVING her crib and the larger space compared to the cradle and loves sleeping on her stomach with her tushie straight up in the air. It’s like she fell asleep mid attempt to crawl. She’s been sitting up in her Bumbo seat really well and loves holding her head up to see everything. She can sit up by herself for a few seconds but usually falls over reaching for something. We’re still working on that 😉 We started to add in some rice cereal/baby oatmeal and this feeding was a whole new experience! She didn’t really know what to do with it or what to think of the spoon! BUt we’re excited to keep introducing more foods and expand her little diet! She also went on her first road trip! We went to Atlanta to celebrate my brother’s birthday & so we could be at their gender reveal party. We’re getting another nephew in January! It was also such a cute shower with all the football themed decor (my brother played football at App State) & Brad kicked a paper football that Kristen tossed him and it busted with powder of the gender color. Precious!
- rolling over
- holding her own bottle
- chewing on everything
- “talking” and cooing
- really colorful items – she loves her play mat toys
This month was full of meeting new people! Emma celebrated her great grandmother’s birthday! It is so fun to watch her with Emma and see so many generations of Elliotts in one photo 🙂 This month Emma also finally got to meet Aunt Susie, who just about didn’t let her go the whole time she was here 🙂 I think she’s smitten. Our neighbors just had their little boy, and Luke & Emma are bound to be friends! We also got to spend some time with our friends from college who both have girls just about Emma’s age and the three littles got to all meet. The funniest part is that at some point they could all go by the same name, Kate, as there is Emma Katherine, Mackenzie Kate, and Kate. Great minds think alike in the name department.
hates:
- missing anything – which sometimes leads to skipped naps, and that means fussiness when it’s not bedtime
- burping in the middle of her bottle/feeding
- being hangry – it’s really pretty cute when she pokes that little lower lip out, but once she’s truly upset it’s on!
Emma braved the flea market and taco truck with us and loved being able to look around in a new place on her weekend strolls in her little “workout” clothes. We tried out her penguin swaddle purely for picture purposes since she’d such a rolly poly now, but she was too much of a wiggle worm to stay in it for long. It’s so funny how much she used to love being swaddled and now she loves the freedom to move about! She’s sitting in it a bit differently, but she still loves to snuggle up in the solly and be close by for everything. Emma got cold and pink eye this month but it didn’t seem to phase her a bit! She was still just a giggly as can be – just a little more snotty! She’s been so good about taking meds and the eye drops though, and really was a champ through it all. Hopefully she can stay snot free for a bit!
