6 months! Half of her first year – gone in the blink of an eye. They say it goes by fast but this is just crazy. She has so much personality and it is so cute. I feel like I say this each month, but it’s so fun to watch her grow into her own little person. Her facial expressions are hilarious and her little coos and noises that go along are on point. Every day is a new adventure with our little tiger!
Measurements:
- 14 lbs 0 oz
- 26.2 inches
- breastfeeding, pumping, and formula – with some mixed in baby foods too!
- 0-3 month & 3 month clothing – though she’s getting too long for her footed pjs!
- size 1 diapers – and they do not make swim diapers meant for anyone under 16 lbs!
This month Emma watched her first Auburn football game! Naturally we had to document this occasion and teach her all the cheers and chants – now if our tigers could just do at least somewhat ok this season… Emma also got her first jump-a-roo this month and LOVES it. Mind you we put her in it at the store to test it out after I searched the internet, but when we got home her little toes didn’t touch the ground in the lowest setting so we had to improvise and stack a few books. She didn’t seem to mind!
loves:
- anything that makes noise! (aka her shakers, rattles, etc – especially this “band” set she has)
- her jump-a-roo
- being on her tummy
- the “diva” pose
- snuggles with mommy & daddy
She added bananas to her food mix this month (not a favorite, but when you sneeze & it comes out nose who can blame you?). She also learned this month that she can stick her tiny feet in her mouth too – talk about flexibility! She sitting up really well with her boppy & bumbo and can sit up on her own if she has her hand holding onto something for support. So very close to being able to sit without any assistance! She is almost fully crawling as well! She’s got the scooting down and will stick her little tushie up in the air and propel herself forward. She loves rolling onto her tummy all the time now right when you lay her on her back, which has made changing her diaper a bit more of a challenge since she’s moving around so much but we’re making it work!
hates:
- bananas (though we’re going to revisit this)
- missing out – this girl straight up refuses nap time if new/lots of people are around or if we’re out doing something fun – she wants to be involved! It’s so funny though, because (like her momma) she loves to sleep & is great at it!
- being hangry – her little internal clock is set to her schedule & you best believe if it’s  around her meal times and she’s fussy that’s the reason why!
She’s also figured out she can stick her tongue out and make all sorts of additional noises using it too. She giggles all the time, and the filters on snapchat are her new favorite. Weekend mornings are spent snuggling with momma & playing on snapchat. She gets this confused look on her little face and grabs at the phone and it’s pretty cute. The puppy tongues always make her laugh! Speaking of puppies, she has started taken a huge interest in Riley. She loves to pet her and rub her ears and it is so precious. Riley’s still not sure what to think of her tugging on those big ole ears, but she’s warming up to it and still loves to get a few licks in everyday. Piper still doesn’t really know she exists, but is becoming more aware of her now that Sam is over at camp Grandma (more on this to come).
We are looking forward to celebrating her baptism & her first beach trip coming up soon! She’s just getting so big! She’s sort of outgrown a lot of her clothes so we’ll need to go fall shopping (her cardigans are mostly too small for her now!) and now that her little shoes don’t fall off it’s time for some more moccasins too. And a girl can never have too many hair bows 🙂 Stay tuned for details on our favorite shops as well!
