Healthy & yummy? Yes please. Bridal showers and baby showers are rather abundant in the south. Often times, typical showers or teas call for each hostess to make an appetizer of some nature. I don’t know about you, but as a working mom, I don’t always have the time to make some complicated or in depth item and crave options that are simple to make. Enter this simple yogurt fruit dip.
Fresh fruit is always a great option that’s healthy too. And while a pre-made fruit tray may seem the easiest plan, I’m here to let you in on a secret – it’s just as easy to made one your self! The “fruit dips” that often accompany those trays are over processed, and so unhealthy they negate the goodness of the fruit they’ve been scooped up with. And sometimes, the fruit isn’t nearly as fresh as you would hope. If you’ve got 5-10 minutes and a good tray, you’re well on your way to a fancy spread that’s healthy too.
Yogurt Fruit Dip
Ingredients:
- fresh fruit – strawberries, grapes, pineapple, melons
- 1 8oz serving of Lite Cool Whip
- 2 6oz vanilla yogurt cups
Directions:
- cut up the melons & pineapple
- wash strawberries & grapes
- mix Cool Whip & yogurt together until combined.
*note: I used a little less than both yogurt cups, but add to taste.
Segment your fruit on your tray and serve the yogurt fruit dip in a bowl nearby and watch as your tasty treat disappears! I made this for a friend’s bridal tea recently and because of how light & fluffy it is it was a huge hit! Here are some photos from that tea celebrating the now Mrs. Hooper!
I loved showering this beautiful bride to be, but most importantly, getting to celebrate her future married life!
