How can it already be the end of 2016?! This year has flown by! It seems like every year is much the same, and I find myself on the cusp of January thinking I haven’t read nearly as many books as I wanted to and longing to dive into more on my list! But here’s my list from 2016 – all four of them. You may remember this fall, when I realized I hadn’t read a single book ALL YEAR as of September. This is SO weird for me. Of course Emma has played a big role in this decrease in reading, but I’m more than ok with that.
In the past few months, I’ve really tried to figure out the best time for me to be able to devote to reading. I’ve always enjoyed pulling out a good book before bed. I’ve started to do that once I’ve put Emma to sleep, and it’s been great. Each year, I like to include books that cover a variety of topics. Something inspirational. A good thriller. A “chick” book. And while my list is brief this year, I did hit all of these genres! Check out my (very short) list for this year & let me know what you’ve been reading in the comments!
Be sure to check out my previous year end lists as well as reviews while you’re here. I love that I can keep track of which books I’ve read, which ones I want to read, and tally progress throughout the year. The best part is that I can do this all on my Goodreads.com profile! If you haven’t checked it out you should and join in for the 2017 Reading Challenge!
Review to come on Grace Not Perfection, so get ready. Y’all, I got this for Christmas and read it in 3 days. And I’m about to go back through it again. So good. Beyond encouraging. And tactical. And life giving. If you get anything off this list, get this one – it’s worth making time for.
7 was good, not as amazing as her other books, but good. A call to remember what is truly important and a reminder worth holding on to.
The Girl on the Train was quite captivating! I always love a good thriller and this one didn’t disappoint. I’m pretty curious to see the movie now too!
Love the One You’re With is a good quick read. Her books are always lighthearted, but end up making you think about your own life. I will say though, in her attempt to always portray strong independent women, the main characters always seem to end up being pretty immoral in some way!
