The first few months after Emma was born, all day every day was spent tending to our little tiger’s every need. While that is certainly still the case, in the beginning, there was a definite need to find sanity in those moments. My phone was generally the only other thing I had with me reliably all day. SO I turned to apps that were useful, and life giving. These were (and continue to be) the must have apps for me as a new mom! I know I wouldn’t have survived without them.
My Medela | this app was gold during the early stages of breastfeeding, especially when we were doing triple feeds. It tracks feedings (both bottle & breast and you can input whether the bottle is formula or pumped), pumping sessions, diaper changes, and sleep. And it has built in reinforcement for tracking which is quite lovely!
She Reads Truth | It’s downright difficult to hold a real life book when you’re holding you baby or trying to feed them. I used my kindle to read, however, having a devotional app was the best thing I could have put on my phone. The daily devos were short enough to read, but always held meaning.
Instagram | While social media can sometimes be a pain, Instagram truly is a place to build community. Especially as a mom! Late night feedings could be spent finding encouragement from other mamas. Mamas in the thick of it at the same time as you. Groups and loops dedicated to building your mom tribe meant the world to me those first few months. Since most friends aren’t in this exact stage of life, it was great to find friends who were. Let’s connect, @elliott_lauren, I’d love to encourage you as well!
Two Dots | Sometimes you just need a game. This one is certainly fun, but also requires a bit of strategy. The perfect mix.
The Bump & What to Expect | ok, so I know there are two apps listed here, but I really used them interchangeably so I count them as one. I loved being able to see milestones (and still do!) each week and month as little miss continues to grow. Both apps have great info!
What must have apps would you suggest?
