Earlier this year, I saw this post over on The Samantha Show and I thought it was such a fun idea! So today I’m sharing answers to these 50 questions! I would LOVE to know your answers so tell me more about you in the comments!
50 Questions
1. What are your nicknames? What do you prefer to be called? In high school it was LT or L-Tizzle during sports seasons (lol) and same in college with LT, but now itโs usually just Lauren.
2. What books on your shelf are begging to be read? Iโm currently reading a bunch of stuff for school & Present Over Perfect
3. How often do you doodle? What do your doodles look like? I donโt doodle anymore but I always used to doodle my name. And lots of doodling especially in high school when we would make each other notecards in class with fun designs and such!
4. What do you do if you canโt sleep at night? Do you count sheep? Toss and Turn? Try to get up and do something productive? If I’m not in the bed yet, I’ll usually write. If I’m in the bed, I’ll pull out my book and read! Most nights though I’m exhausted by the time I hit the pillow so I’m usually out pretty quick.
5. How many days could you last in solitary confinement? How would you do it? Probably one. I never get alone time and I’m really introverted, so I think I’d enjoy a few hours of literally nothing but silence. Much more than that though and I’d go crazy!
6. Do you save old greeting cards and letters? Throw them away? Absolutely save. I punch a hole in the and have them on a ring for cards from my husband and I keep special cards in my nightstand too from friends and family. I do condense yearly with birthday cards and such.
7. Who is the biggest pack rat you know? Well. I can be, but I might say my mom! She’s totally not to hoarder status or anything but she sure does like to hold onto things ๐
8. When making an entrance in to a party, do you make your presence known? Do you slip in and look for someone you know? Do you sneak in quietly and find a safe spot to roost? I usually slip in and go and find the host of the party and say hello, then find friends. I am NEVER the life of the party – like I said earlier – introvert.
9. What is your strongest sense? If you had to give one up, which would it be? Smell! Since I was pregnant with Emma smell is crazy heightened for me even now. I have no idea which I’d give up though.
10. How many times a day do you look at yourself in the mirror? Usually every time in the bathroom. I usually don’t seek one out though.
11. What is the strangest thing you believed as a child? hmmmm…
12. What is one guilty pleasure you enjoy too much to give up? Good coffee! And shopping with my tiny sidekick ๐
13. Who performs the most random acts of kindness out of everyone you know? My friend Heather. Only, I dare not say they are random, rather deliberate acts of kindness!
14. How often do you read the newspaper? Which paper? Which sections? Yeah, not so much. But, I check online news sources & apps.
15. Which animals scare you most? Why? Spiders. Especially those tiny jumping spiders. Seriously, no need.
16. Are you more likely to avoid conflict or engage it head-on? Head on in the most respectful way possible. I always want to talk about it instead of holding it in.
17. What was the most recent compliment youโve received and savored? When my husband tells me I’m a good mom to our daughter.
18. What is something about yourself that you hope will change, but probably never will? I over analyze everything, and I worry a lot.
19. Are you a creature of habit? Explain. Yes and no. I craze organization and order in my belongings, but I love chnage in location and new foods.
20. Are you high maintenance? Explain. When it comes to getting ready not really, but I supose all girls are to some extent.
21. When was the last time you really pushed yourself to your physical limits? Iโm working out really hard in the gym right now. Except for the days Iโm not and Iโm eating Girl Scout cookies instead. But usually 4-5 days a week.
22. Do you have a whole lot of acquaintances or just a few very close friends? Why? Both. We move around a lot and I have always been good about making friends and putting myself out there. But I have a really small group of people Iโm close with.
23. Are you more inclined to โbuild your own empireโ or unleash the potential of others? I think both. I want to build my own empire but want to help others to succeed too. There’s room for everyone to do well!
24. Whatโs a strange occurrence youโve experienced but have never (or rarely) shared with anyone? I really can’t think of anything.
25. What do you think about more than anything else? my sweet little Emma.
26. Whatโs something that amazes you? The human body and this crazy journey of motherhood.
27. Do you prefer that people shoot straight with you or temper their words? Why? Shoot straight. You can do it tactfully without adding extra fluff.
28. Whereโs your favorite place to take an out-of-town guest? Local restaurants and coffee shops!
29. Whatโs one thing youโd rather pay someone to do than do yourself? Why? Clean the house! I love having a clean space but hate spending time cleaning rather than hanging out with my family.
30. Do you have a catchphrase? I don’t per se, but the blog does – finding joy in simplicity.
31. Whatโs your reaction towards people who are outspoken about their beliefs? What conditions cause you to dislike or, conversely, enjoy talking with them? I like being able to have open discussions on opinions, but trying to shove your beliefs down someone’s throat is no good for anyone.
32. How and where do you prefer to study? at a large table, headphones in, and with flashcards. SAFMEDS for the win always.
33. What position do you sleep in? On my back or on my side. With all the pillows!
34. Whatโs your all-time favorite town or city? Why? I’m kind of obsessed with Chicago. And Leipaja.
35. What are the top three qualities that draw you to someone new? Someone who is welcoming, honest, and genuine.
36. How has your birth order/characteristics of siblings affected you? Iโm the youngest, but I usually tend to find myself in leadership positions. So I’m not sure how birth order affected me.
37. If you could eliminate one weakness or limitation in your life, what would it be? Irrational fears – and self doubt.
38. If you could restore one broken relationship, which would it be? A close female friend.
39. If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to? I wouldnโt. I love my name!
40. Do you believe ignorance is bliss? Why or why not? No, I crave knowledge and truth.
41. What do you consider unforgivable? I don’t know. I’d like to believe that even in pain I’d be able to forgive.
42. Have you forgiven yourself for past personal failures? Why or why not? Yes. That’s almost more difficult than forgiving others though.
43. How difficult is it for you to forgive someone who refuses to apologize? It’s hard. But forgiveness isn’t offered because someone apologizes.
44. Do you hold any convictions that you would be willing to die for? Yes. At least I hope I if the situation arose.
45. To what extent do you trust people? Explain. I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. But I’m also quite the skeptical person.
46. In what area of your life are you immature? Not sure if this counts – I hold on to the negative rather than the positive
47. What was the best news you ever received? Finding out I was pregnant!
48. How difficult is it for you to be honest, even when your words may be hurtful or unpopular? I’m probably a little too honest.
49. When did you immediately click with someone you just met? Why? What was the long term result? Conversely, are you close with anyone now that you really disliked at first? Yes, maybe? First impressions are usually on point, but for me I believe that you need to take the time to get to knw people.
50. When do you find yourself singing? In the car mostly!
