Alabama Lifestyle Blog

April 3, 2018 / elliott littles, emma katherine

24 months

Our tiny little tiger is two years old! And we can hardly believe it. 24 months have passed and she continues to surprise us daily! She is so talkative, loving, passionate, and curious. She loves to imitate mommy and daddy, and the best little helper. She’s mommy’s tiny sidekick, Daddy is her favorite, and Pops is still her best friend. She is learning a great deal at school and her sentence structure and vocabulary continues to bloom. She’s starting memorize a few songs and prayers as well and it is precious.

Measurements:

  • 25.6 lbs
  • 34.5 inches
  • while her favorites are chicken & mac & cheese, she’ll eat basically anything and everything we put in front of her – especially if it comes from our plate 😉
  • mostly 18 months or 18-24 months – it just depends on which brand! Some 2T items as well & even 12 month dresses – it’s such a range. She’s still tiny but healthy as can be!
  • size 4 diapers (but also 2T pull-ups!)

She went to the dentist recently and actually loved it! Alabama Pediatric & Adolescent Dentistry is phenomenal, y’all. She got to make her little handprint on a ceiling tile, and got all sorts of pink items as souvenirs, and the girl cleaning her teeth showered her everything first on her little puppy. They were seriously the best & made all the difference. She now has all her teeth except for her to year molars. She runs around and has so much more energy than I could ever imagine. She is so inquisitive and loves asking questions. She also loves telling people what to do and be in charge, and her imagination is starting to blossom even more. She always shows her bears and dolls things, especially in the car when things are passing by. We found my old beanie babies recently, and Emma is OBSESSED with them. They are just her size and it’s like getting new toys when we bring some out every now and then.

Loves:

  • fruit snacks
  • everything pink
  • cupcakes
  • bathtime
  • stickers
  • swinging & sliding out
  • pushing her babies in her stroller
  • playing mommy for her babies & little bears (and it is adorable!)

Some of her favorites from this past year included her first visit to the Georgia Aquarium, romping around in Denver (mostly with Daddy), making cookies with mommy, dressing up as Supergirl for Halloween, lots of visits to BarTaco, our annual beach trip, visiting Tampa, the Birmingham Zoo, and alllll the trips to Target 🙂 There were so many firsts too! Like the first carousel ride (which did not go well) but you did it all by yourself by the end of the second time. The first (of probably several) trips to Build A Bear. First haircut. Two whole years worth of firsts – we can’t wait to see what this year brings next!

Hates:

  • we *might* be going through the terrible twos…
  • being told not to do what she’s trying to do (i.e. not jump in the bathtub, or on the changing table, or throw the cheese balls at the puppy…)
  • not getting to participate in picking out her outfit (she is quite opinionated on her style)
