This past weekend has been a bit crazy, and full of some unexpected situations that have scared us, broken our hearts, and truly shaken us a bit. We have started reading Crazy Love in our small group, and the first two chapters already have begun to challenge our thinking.
For me, one of these ways has been in terms of the depth of my prayer life. While the form of prayers constantly ebbs and flows with the seasons of life, I find myself all too often reactively praying in response to situations that occur, rather than proactively seeking Him in everything. While this includes praise and petition, I often lack intentionality in my prayers on a more broad and general sense. So in an effort to increase that intentionality, I want to gather specific ways to begin praying for my husband and daughter. To start, here are 10 verses to pray over your husband.
10 Verses to Pray Over Your Husband
That he would give everything to the Lord in Prayer (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing.” (NKJV)
That he would seek wisdom (James 1:5)
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” (NKJV)
That God would give him discernment (Philippians 1:9-10)
“And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ.” (NKJV)
That he would lean on Christ in his trials (Psalm 46:1)
“God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.” (NKJV)
For his integrity (Proverbs 11:3)
“The integrity of the upright will guide them,
But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.” (NKJV)
For his temptations (1 Corinthians 10:13)
“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” (NKJV)
That he would have a giving heart (Proverbs 28:27)
“He who gives to the poor will not lack,
But he who hides his eyes will have many curses.” (NKJV)
For his health (1 Corinthians 6:12)
“All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.” (NKJV)
For his strength (Psalm 28:7)
“The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart greatly rejoices,
And with my song I will praise Him.” (NKJV)
That he would be full of patience and peace (Romans 14:19)
“Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.” (NKJV)
