Our go to meals around here always have to include a kid friendly option that’s a solid winner. Enter the trusty mac & cheese! Well, you may remember that I mentioned a new smokey version over the holidays that was the perfect spin on this classic dish. As promised, here is the recipe!
Smokey Mac & Cheese
Ingredients
- 1 lb macaroni noodles
- 4 cups milk warmed
- 6 tbsps butter
- 1/2 cup flour
- 20 oz shredded cheese
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare Green Egg as you would normally.
- Boil noodles 6-8 minutes
- Melt butter in sauce pan.
- Stir in flower & stir untill golden brown.
- Add milk. Stir until thickens.
- Add cheese, and melt.
- Add pasta to pot, and stir to coat with cheese mixture.
- Transfer all to baking dish.
- Cook in green egg for 30 mins or so until bubbly.
- Note: you can also bake at 375 for 30-35 minutes and is is quite tasty as well.
