While most people think of the casinos when they picture Vegas, one of the reasons we enjoy going so much is the variety and selection of amazing food and drinks. The restaurants and bars in Vegas are too many to number, so we’ve put together a selection of our absolute favorites and ones we wouldn’t return to.
Restaurants
Tao is probably one of our favorite places ever. We have a running joke that we will visit every one (and so far we’re knocking off that list) but the one in Vegas takes the cake. The atmosphere is incredible, and the food is right on par. The dumplings are amazing, and the entrees are family style, which is always a perk. Not to mention they have the best birthday dessert around. Also, if you’re into it – they boast the best nightclub around.
I just adore the Cosmo, so Beauty & Essex was high on the list already. Then I learned it was the sister restaurant of Tao. Um, yes. THEN I learned that it was speakeasy style where you entered through a pawn shop. SOLD. I had some seriously high hopes walking into this place. The food was shareable, combined lots of flavors, and the atmosphere was perfect.
Gordon Ramsey Pub & Grill is one of our favorites. Located in Ceasar’s, the location is great, and the food is spot on British. The fish & chips are divine, especially when paired with the speciality gin beverage of the season.
Keeping with the Gordon Ramsey love, Hell’s Kitchen is a must if you’re in the mood for a decadent burger.
If you’re looking for a brunch suited for a queen, Tableau in the Wynn is a must. It is the quintessential female brunch spot and was adorable, delicious, and perfectly fancy while still providing serving sizes to keep you full. It reminded us a great deal of afternoon tea at The Rose Lounge in London. Not to mention, a selection of rotatable endless drinks including mimosa, rose, and sangria.
If you’re in the mood for authentic, creative mexican cuisine, Chica is your go to! It was tapas style, which I love, so you get to sample a lot of different flavors. If that’s not your thing (or you just don’t like to share) they also have entre items which are quite delicious as well. Plus, they have a churro tower. I mean, a CHURRO TOWER. Need I say more?
We have not been to Yard Bird, but I have heard nothing but amazing things from friends who have!
Brioche by Guy Savoy was a great on the go breakfast spot for a cup of coffee and a croissant.
While I love Mexican food, MESA Grill by Bobby Flay fell short for me. We went for the churros, so I wasn’t too disappointed, but overall, I would pick elsewhere for your fix of queso while in Vegas.
Bars
While you can (and do) get “free” drinks while you’re at the slots or tables, our favorite bar is The Dorsey. It’s classic, sophisticated, and calm. A somewhat respite from the nightlife scene that is typical of Vegas which is great for us. The bartenders are exceptionally knowledgeable, and are master drink crafters!
If you’re looking for a fun cocktail spot, Vanderpump is a great option, especially for the ladies.
Buffets
While buffet’s have never quite been my thing (I hardly ever eat enough to make it worth the while) I did love the variety of the Bacchanal Buffet in Ceasar’s. Especially when it came to the desserts!
The real star of the buffet for me was at the Aria. The bottomless mimosas certainly didn’t hurt, but their set up, along with the overall presentation was spot on. Not to mention, the food was very good!
