When you pick a place to stay in Vegas, you want to make sure you’re checking location on the strip, the amenities, the choices of restaurants, and the caliber of the casino. We’ve listed our favorites, as well as ones we’d likely not stay in again, or ever.
Venetian
Hands down our favorite place to stay. The Venetian just screams Vegas to me for some reason. The rooms are gorgeous, and the views are amazing as well. The lobby and the general decor of the hotel was oozing with wealth and luxury. It was such an interesting juxtaposition to be honest to “daily life”, but just what one needs on a vacation. The connection to the shoppes and to the Canyon Ranch Spa just made it even better.
Palazzo
Connected to the Venetian, the Palazzo is another favorite luxury hotel. We will likely stay here the next time we go. It has a very similar feel to the Venetian, and is the home to our favorite restaurant in Vegas, Tao.
Caesars Palace
We stayed at Caesar‘s this last visit and loved it. The rooms were beautiful, spacious, and practical. The hotel itself was rather ornate, as was the casino. Think Roman Statues at every turn. Colloms abounded. We decided to spend a day at the pool and it is one of the nicest.
Bellagio
This is next on our list of places to stay. Perhaps my favorite thing about the Bellagio is the Conversatory. The flower arrangements are absolutely breathtaking! And the casino is so elegant and classy. The show at the fountain is almost a must see both at night and during the day.
Cosmopolitan
Every lady needs to pay a visit to the Cosmo while in Vegas. It is dripping in elegance and femininity. The chandeliers and soft colors create such a sophisticated and glamorous atmosphere.
Aria
We originally visited Aria for the buffet, the gambling was what made us stay. It’s a very sleek design in the casino, and not nearly as ostentatious as some of the other places. We enjoyed the whole feel of it!
The Wynn
Naturally, given it’s our bestie’s name, we had to check out the Wynn. It has such a distinct interior, and the waterfall outside is gorgeous. It’s classic, streamlined, and beautiful. This luxury hotel and casino is a must visit. Not to mention the selection of restaurants is on point.
New York, New York
While we haven’t stayed here, New York was a fun place to walk around, gamble, and have drinks. It’s made to look just like the streets of NYC, and the atmosphere is quite fun. We also saw a show here, and the venue was a great space.
Paris
Again, we didn’t stay here, but much like New York, the inside of the Paris resembled the streets in France. It was certainly like being in another part of the world and a little escape! You can take a trip to the top of the half scale replica to overview the strip, and they also have a light show every night.
Excalibur
A bit off the main strip, right there with the New York, New York and across the way from the MGM, Excalibur was an experience. Far different than the high class casinos further down the strip, this was a bit older, and therefor, a bit lower table minimums. It was fun for day gambling, but I likely wouldn’t stay there.
MGM
I must admit, the MGM was not our favorite. Mainly due to the location so far down the strip, it was just a long way from everything. The rooms were fine. The hotel was fine. The casino was fine. But, if I’m going to Vegas, I don’t want fine – I want to be wowed.
Treasure Island
While we didn’t stay here, and the casino wasn’t our favorite, you should definitely walk by Treasure Island and see the ship and the water show!
