Rounding out our podcast series, it seemed most appropriate to end with the best of the best podcasts that are faith based. I typically read physical copies of books as it pertains to faith, but there are some really great podcasts out there that approach things from a practical standpoint or are good companions to scripture or other books. These are my general go tos.
The Bible Recap (with Tara Leigh Cobble)
In the height of the pandemic, I had started the TBR podcast and it was a dream to go through during that time. The episodes are short, and pair with daily ready of scripture that takes you chronologically through the whole Bible. Each episode is about 7-10 minutes.
The Simplified Podcast (with Emily Ley)
Y’all are shocked I’m sure. But you know I adore Emily Ley, and her podcast is no exception. She has some episodes with guests, and some that are just her. She covers a multitude of things, but I placed her in this category because of my favorite part is the blessing she does at the end of each episode. Each episode is about 15-45 minutes, depending on the topic & guest.
If you haven’t visited TDG co you should check out their study tools, accessories, and studies in general. Join conversation about our great God, and be encouraged to seek a deeper knowledge of God that leads living lives for God’s glory. Geared to guide as the listener grows in love and awe in response to who He is. Each episode is about 30 minutes.
Made for This (with Jennie Allen)
I love Jennie’s books, and her podcast is much the same – full of encouragement. There is one episode of teaching from Jennie, then one that is an interview. She tackles conversation is is real and raw about life. Each episode is about 15-45 minutes.
That Sounds Fun (with Annie F. Downs)
After reading Annie’s books I feel like we are kindred spirits that likely crossed path during our undergrad days and just never knew it. Her podcast is everything it sounds like it would be – fun! She manages to bring light to deep conversations with some awesome people in tow. Each episode is about an hour.
The Proverbs 31 Ministries Podcast
Proverbs 31 ministries has so much to offer and this is yet another. Their mission is to intersect God’s word int he real, hard places we all struggle with and offers truth and teaching on a variety of topics. Each episode is about 20-45 minutes.
For the Love Podcast (with Jen Hatmaker)
I mean, Jen is just hilarious and she has so many great guests on the show. She does different series themes if you will and has several episodes devoted to each category. Each episode is about 45 minutes – 1 hour, depending on the topic & guest.
Now, this isn’t a podcast per se, but rather a feed of sermons from our local church. Our pastor has a way with words and is an incredible story teller. Each episode is about 30 minutes.
I’ve long loved the SRT app, but sometimes I just like to listen instead of read. The podcast pairs well with the reading plans and is an encouraging conversation of scripture with guests. Each episode is about 45 minutes – 1 hour.
