I absolutely love sending little notes in Emma’s lunchbox, after all, words of affirmation are my primary love language and I adore getting little notes myself. So when I found these Simplified lunchbox notes, I knew they were perfect to add a little “love mommy” on the back and pop in her lunch box. As she didn’t bring her lunch much in Kindergarten due to the free school lunches, they were few and far between. But this year she’s taken her lunch almost every day.
Little did I know that those notes meant just as much to Emma. I went to clean her lunchbox out one day and realized she had been keeping every note I sent in her front pocket.
While Emma LOVES pink, I went ahead and got the blue set as well this last time they went on sale because they are equally as adorable.
Since she kept them all, I kept trying to think of creative ways for her to keep them where she could look at them, without them just ending up stuffed in her nightstand or a bin in her playroom. Then one day we were rearranging her room and the idea hit me.
We got a frame that fit with her decor, and taped the cards to the plexiglass but instead of replacing the backing, we left it off, and just folded the tabs down to hold it in place. We arranged the cards so there was a variety of colors from the pack, and then Emma wanted to put the green one in the middle, which really made it pop. We used velcro command strips so that she can take it down and see the notes on the back as well. And we both absolutely LOVE how it turned out.
