In the peak of the pandemic, we decided to move the office upstairs to where the guest room was as Glenn’s job turned into a full time work from home situation. The upstairs guest room currently wasn’t proving useful to us as it was, especially as we opted to use the downstairs guest room when anyone came to visit. So we reorganized and downsized the physical items from the office downstairs (hello book donations) and set up our new home office upstairs for Glenn to primarily use.
We kept everything relatively the same as the previous office space, just some repositioning of furniture to suite the room and the router primarily. While our desk is no longer available, this one is gorgeous and has the same vibes. These lean to bookcases have been a favorite for years. I really love how they aren’t too bulky, but still have storage capacity. We opted to keep favorite books, and family binders in the office, along with our diplomas. Otherwise, we kept the decor rather simple and neutral. One think Glenn wanted was a chair mat to protect our hardwoods, so we opted for a fancy one instead of those industrial clear ones, and it makes a HUGE difference. Not only does it protect the floors, it adds just the right pop.
We had to keep the antique desk, and the artwork for some sentimental touches. This piece fit perfectly above the desk, and is the best reminder to walk into each day.
Stay tuned, I’ll be sharing my *new* home office in the coming weeks as well and I must say I’m obsessed with all the changes we made downstairs!
