This year, rather than a full birthday party, Emma opted for a day of all her favorite things, with her best friend, and a family dinner to cap the night! So while we didn’t decorate completely, we had to get some balloons, and she helped make a fun birthday shirt with the Cricut.

We started the day off a the trampoline park, and they had a blast running around, jumping off of everything, and basically just going crazy.

Next she wanted chicken fingers for lunch, so a trip to Zaxby’s was in order. The girls were so funny off at their own table chatting away!

Then the girls played and crafted at the house for a while before dinner. We also made cupcakes using her new Harry Potter Cookbook for a guide on the decorating, and they were the absolute BEST we have ever done. (You NEED to try them: Cupcake Recipe & Frosting Recipe). Emma was dead set on a hibachi grill for dinner because she has never been. This one is local, and was really good!

Of course it’s always an adventure and it was a terrible stormy day (I’m talking tornado warnings!) so we ended up being the only people at the restaurant, which made it a bit quieter, but it was still lots of fun. We will certainly have to go back again!

Since it was storming (and there were most assuredly tornado warnings going off) we all spent the remainder of the night in the basement. The girls crafted and watched a movie, while the adults watched James Spann int he man cave. Certainly a night to remember!
The next morning we went to church and wrapped up birthday celebrations, but all in all it was a great 9th birthday “party” that was intentional and low key!
