Media worth consuming. What we’re listening to, watching, and reading recently.
Books
- I finished Murder by the Book recently and enjoyed it tremendously – it was nothing like I expected, and I absolute loved the historical narrative about the authors of the 1800’s in addition to the telling of a true crime story. Certainly a good listen on audiobook!
- We started Seamless: Understanding the Bible as One Complete Story in our Rally Bible Study and I am really enjoying working back through it (I previously did it in 2020 and it’s wild to see my notes from then to now!)
- See my 2026 Book List for everything I’m reading this year.
Podcasts
- I certainly find when I’m on an audiobook kick, I neglect podcasts and vice versa. Also, I haven’t been driving a ton, so my “audio time” is rather lower these days.
- I did find time to listen to Elizabeth Phillips on the Shawn Ryan Show. The fact that any of this has occurred, the depth of deception, lack of protection for kids, and the utter insanity of it all is completely mind boggling. And the fact that so much of this has been hushed, pushed aside, and allowed to continued for so long is deplorable. (listed links here as well).
- Next up are a few other interviews he has done with Tim Tebow, Ryan Montgomery, and a guy that goes by Schlep. The word is a dark place, and I am a firm believer in protecting our kids, fighting for their safety, and not being ignorant to the very real dangers that can potentially come into contact with.
TV Shows
- I have not started, but Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model is on my list next! I watched this show all the time when it was on, and this whole era of diet culture, fashion, and the rest during my highschool and college years really did a number on me and my view of what women should look like. Very interested in how this documentary dives into the show and the impact it had on society.
- Still watching Bridgerton and happy to report that it is still quite captivating!
- We are on the hunt for another show to watch as a family though, so any and all suggestions are welcome!
Movies
- We watched Zootopia 2 in theaters and it was quite cute and it’s now out on streaming
- We’ve been going through the Fantastic Beasts movies along with Harry Potter as a easy go to when we don’t have time to really watch a whole movie, or when we’re doing legos on a rainy day and it always makes me want to relive our trip to London!
Music
- This playlist on Spotify is on repeat during working blocks and is perfect for locking in and getting stuff done!
- Emma is really into HARDY currently, and that was actually one of her presents – to go to his concert! She is beyond excited and I can’t wait to watch her experience her first real concert too!
