Hey! I’m Lauren. Welcome to this little space. We’re so happy you’re here. When I’m not working as a BCBA, I am reading, blogging, or basically pretending that I am Hermione Granger. This ruggedly handsome man is my husband. We are newlyweds who enjoy conquering the outdoors together with precious furry animals, all things sports related, and mastering new recipes in the kitchen. We are also new parents and have the most precious little girl. I love to travel, be crafty, and support companies that are making a difference in this world. I hope you will join me as I grab a cup of coffee, slip on my TOMS, and venture out into the world to love and serve others as Christ did!
The past few years of my life has been filled with a plethora of novelty. Graduating in August ’10 with my master’s degree fueled a new career diving head first into the realm of Applied Behavior Analysis and developmental disabilities. Learning how to serve others as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst while still serving with Christ’s compassion. In January ’11, I was incredibly blessed to have married my best friend, surrounded by the most wonderful family and friends on the most incredible day that I could have ever imagined. We jumped straight into domestic bliss as we strive to live this journey out as simply as we can yet never lacking in love, honesty and an abundance of laughter. Moving away from the loveliest village on the plains, to coastal Mobile, and now to Birmingham, the need and power of strong community has been ever present as we start to make a life here as a new family of 3! And despite no longer being in school, I am constantly reminded the need to acquire knowledge in all areas of my life, and this is the avenue to sort that all out.
I’m learning that life is actually a slow progression of moving towards completeness. That through simplicity we find freedom. By pure joy we find true happiness. And in the many facets of my life, I am learning to be content even in the unfinished messes. And that is what this space is for. To share this journey with glimpses of those lingering thoughts of faith, academia, living the life of simplicity and the like. To divulge recipes and tips I’ve found useful in making a space a home. And to walk together as I attempt to fight for the heart of my King and strive to be the best wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend & behavior analyst I can be while bringing all the glory to the One who deserves all the praise.
